The detail

Going away – even for a few days – has its disadvantages. If you leave your home unoccupied it is increasingly at risk of burglary or weather damage; and if you are a pet owner you are probably reluctant to use kennels or catteries.

Homesitters Ltd was established in 1980 specifically to resolve these problems by providing a nationwide live-in caretaking service, available throughout the year. We’ve looked after over 64,000 bookings, and we know that successful homesitting requires scrupulous attention to detail - nothing must be left to chance. So all the Homesitters are our employees and meticulously vetted. They are conscientious and sensible, and motivated mainly by job satisfaction; they ensure security (although they are not security guards), look after possessions and pets and provide routine home and garden maintenance. On assignment, the employees are under the company’s direction.

We now have nearly 1,000 employees available throughout England, Wales and Scotland. With the security of substantial net assets the staff are required to be uncompromising in recruitment standards and in quality of service. Their constant aim is to make the Homesitters name synonymous with

Allowing relative strangers to look after your home, possessions and pets may seem rather a novel idea; some of our clients have told us that they were a bit doubtful about using our service for the first time! However, they soon adopted us as an essential part of going away. Over 70% of new clients re-book within two years and some of them have been with us since 1980.

As well as looking after homes and pets when clients go on holiday or business trips, we care for properties awaiting probate, on the market, repossessions, between tenants, etc.  We are well used to providing sitters at very short notice and can homesit for as long as required – from one day to several months, even years!  We also offer a special one day package for weddings, funerals, etc.
