Heating oil – when to buy?

Date posted - 23 February 2012 | Posted in Latest Posts

Many of our clients (particularly those in more  rural settings) have oil-fired boilers.  Currently the price of fuel can vary by at least 10p per litre over the year due to seasonal and climatic differences, so knowing when to buy can mean substantial savings.

Rather than remembering to keep on surveying the market at regular intervals, we suggest visiting www.boilerjuice.com/heatingOilPrices.php to see the trend  over a given period.  Then when you feel the timing is right you can contact their suggested retailers for prices.

Locally (midland, and northern home counties) we favour Barton Petroleum at present – www.bartonpetroleum.co.uk. Very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

You may also find that there is a oil-buying club near you.  They negotiate on your behalf with the oil companies.  I find they have very keen prices.
