Planning

Dreaming about our summer holidays is often what keeps us going through January, but don’t forget to plan who is going to look after your home and pets when you are away.

Many home and pet sitters get booked up months in advance; particularly for the peak summer period. Our regular clients know that to get their favourite Homesitter they need to get things booked sooner rather than later.

Pets, especially dogs often form a strong bond with their regular Homesitter and it can be reassuring for clients if their best friend can enjoy their summer holiday too!

Andrew Tabor, a client of Homesitters for ten years has been using the same Homesitter for around seven years and says, “The most important thing for us is to know our two dogs are well cared for whilst we are away - as well as the goldfish, which is of course pretty low maintenance! We have got to know our sitter well over the years and trust them implicitly with our home and pets.”

We recommend booking even as far as three months ahead for our busiest times of year including Easter, the summer holidays and Christmas to ensure we can find the right match for your specific requirements.

Before every new assignment, we set up an introductory meeting so you can meet the Homesitter and brief them on how your home runs in details and give them important information such as how the alarm system works or which day the cleaner or gardener comes, the routine your pets enjoy most and a list of emergency contacts.

Our clients can also have complete peace of mind about insurance - we carry comprehensive insurance including Employer’s Liability, Public liability and Professional Indemnity cover.

We also provide 24 hour support for our Homesitters on assignment including during bank holidays, Christmas and New Year and a dedicated person from Homesitters head office remains in regular contact with each Homesitter.
