The fitness and relaxation benefits of Homesitting

Posted on 4 April, 2024

April marks Stress Awareness Month, which can be a time to reflect on our own well-being and consider ways to reduce stress in our lives.

For many, the idea of homesitting might not immediately conjure images of relaxation and fitness, but for individuals like Sue Cabrelli, it offers exactly that and so much more.

Sue, an experienced homesitter from Loughborough, has found a unique way to combine her love for animals, exploration, and personal well-being through her work.

After retiring from her role as a service administrator, Sue wanted a fulfilling yet flexible role that would allow her to maintain an active lifestyle while enjoying the freedom of retirement.

Intrigued by an article she read about Homesitting, she realised home and pet sitting would be the ideal way to combine her affection for animals with her desire to explore new places.

Sue has now been working for our clients for over a decade, with over hundred assignments under her belt.

Sue's homesitting lifestyle isn't just about caring for animals and properties; it's also an opportunity to prioritise her physical and mental well-being.

Sue incorporates Pilates, yoga, and horse riding into her routine, whether she's at home or on assignment. Her commitment to fitness isn't hindered by her travels; instead, she embraces it, using her yoga mat when staying in homes on assignment, much to the curiosity of her furry companions.

One of the most rewarding aspects of homesitting for Sue is the chance to explore the different regions in the UK. From rural villages to bustling cities, each assignment offers her a new adventure waiting to be discovered.

Whether exploring National Trust properties, admiring exhibitions in London, or riding horses in the countryside, Sue immerses herself fully in the beauty of her surroundings, finding joy in the simplicity of nature.

Homesitting has also enabled Sue to enjoy new friendships with clients and nurture her passion for cooking and jigsaw puzzles. She finds that each assignment provides her with an opportunity for personal growth and fulfilment.

As Stress Awareness Month unfolds, Sue’s story highlights how homesitting can be transformative and a real opportunity for rich new experiences, relationships, and personal growth.
