With 2018 fast approaching many people decide they want to take on a fresh challenge, especially those nearing retirement or who have already retired.

Some are looking for a new hobby or a way to get out and about more; others want to earn a bit of extra income or meet new people.

One solution is to become a homesitter. We’ve been caring for people’s homes and pets when they go away for over 35 years and are currently expanding our network of homesitters to meet growing client demand.

We’re looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic people to take on assignments throughout the UK that involve staying in people’s homes whilst they are away, keeping the home secure and taking care of any pets.

The role typically suits retired people in their 50s, 60s and 70s, and the majority tend to be big animal lovers who enjoy spending time with pets, but haven’t got any themselves.

There are lots of fantastic benefits to the role such as the chance to travel throughout the UK staying in some fantastic homes and meeting new people. It’s also very flexible and homesitters can choose to do as many assignments as they wish throughout the year.

Whilst the primary rewards for most are non-financial, homesitters receive a modest remuneration to supplement a pension or other income.

People can also make savings on their household bills, especially if they take on lots of assignments during the year, as they are staying in other people’s homes.

The role is extremely varied not only in the location of the assignment but in the type of pets people can be tasked to look after from dogs, cats and rabbits to the more unusual pot-bellied pigs, llamas and snakes.

Homesitters are matched with clients, taking into account their preferences, personalities, skills and experiences, and can specify which types of pets they are willing to look after.

What makes us different to many other organisations offering similar services is all our homesitters are employed and paid directly by us, plus they receive our full back-up and support.
